Photo Book Layout

For my photo book, I didn’t want to leave as much white space. I normally love it, but I wanted to take advantage of the page a little more. Every spread has a full-size image and alternates between three or four columns. I enjoyed putting this together and can’t wait to see the finished product!

Typography

mckenzielyman_signature

For my 10 images, I chose the theme of doors. These were all taken at the ghost town in Bannack, MO. I’m still practicing type on images, but I’m off to a good start. There were minimal edits to the images. I chose these typefaces because of readability and the simple contrast they give to the patterns on the wood.

Title: Avenir Next, Sans-Serif

Body: Neue Haas Grotesk Display Roman, Sans-Serif

Bannack Creativity

I loved the thought that went into these images. I loved being able to make what I wanted out of a set of photos and to have the vision behind it.

Light painting- I look forward to learning more about this. Long exposure, flashlight.

Levitation- Come up with a cool concept and photoshop out the bench! This was fun to think of different ideas.

Ghosts- Long exposure. Mess with the lighting/ISO depending on the room. Have model move during exposure.

Creative- I wanted to place something on the other side of this door and love this mustache image. I think they look good together.

Bannack Portraits

The models at Bannack were so cooperative and easy to work with. My portrait game isn’t as strong, but I learned a ton!

Bannack Fine Art

I absolutely loved going to Bannack, MO and exploring the ghost town there. There were so many beautiful things there and my photography does not do it justice. All of these images are taken with natural lighting except for the boot spur, which had a flash on the left side and window light on the right. The last image is HDR image compiled in Photomatix.
